  • What will I get out of Harbor Moms?  What will my child get out of this?
    Social Interaction! You’ll get to speak with other adults; your child will get to play with other kids. Beyond that, it’s really up to you. Since how much you participate is up to you, the experience will largely be what you make of it. Whether you attend a few activities a year or come regularly and develop lasting friendships, every mom has the right to take what she wants from her Harbor Moms membership. For those that participate, there are lots of fun times and socialization to be experienced!
  • Who can join Harbor Moms?
    Harbor Moms is currently open to those living in the following zip codes: 98329, 98332, 98333, 98335, 98349, 98351, 98359, 98366, 98367, and 98394. This is to ensure our group doesn't get too spread out, and it encourages moms and kids to get to know others in their neighborhoods.
  • I work full-time. Can I join Harbor Moms?
    Of course! ALL Moms are welcome to join. Most activities are scheduled during the weekdays, however, we do have at least one weekend event a month, plus Mom's Night Out, Family events, etc. that are scheduled either during the evening or on a weekend. The bigger community we’re able to create, the more activities and events we’ll be able to offer :)
  • I’m a new Mom with an infant. Should I wait till my child is older to join?
    There is no reason to wait to join. Harbor Moms is a support for you! Even if your child is too young to participate in some of the activities, all events provide Moms with the opportunity to get out and socialize.
  • Can my kids come to all the events, even MOM focused events or business meetings?"
    Yes, children are welcome at ALL events. We expect children to be there and provide entertainment for them even if we’re doing a mom activity (usually in the form of toys and the other children!). The only exception is our monthly Mom's Night Out; children do not normally attend these events, though nursing mothers sometimes bring their babies to this event, as well. Don't worry: we don't ever expect children to sit quietly while we have a meeting! Remember, we are moms, too!
  • How often would I be required to attend?
    There are no attendance requirements. You may attend as often or as little as you like depending on your needs, your kids’ desires, and your schedule. There are events scheduled each month on different days and at different times in an effort to accommodate a variety of schedules.
  • How much does it cost to join?
    Our dues are $40 a year. However, we never turn away a Mom because of financial hardship.
  • What are dues used for?
    Since we are a non-profit, we follow very specific guidelines from the IRS regarding what our money can be used for. Our dues pay for the expenses of operating our group, cover our outreach costs, and help support our service projects. We provide a financial report at every monthly business meeting so you'll know exactly where your money is going!
  • How do I join?
    Simply click "Join Us!" at the top of the page. Choose the "Full Membership" option to enjoy all the perks Harbor Moms has to offer right away - dues are only $40 annually!
